The founder of SBTC, Mr. Hoo Kim Loong, currently acting as head coach as well as team manager of SBTC. His vast talent has levelled up his badminton career to the next phase just within a year after he first started to learn about badminton. He was trained at the age of 14 years old and recruited by the state badminton association when he turned into 15 years old. He was called up to the badminton association of Malaysia at the age of 21 years old. During his years as a professional national badminton player, he had represented the nation in many tournaments which most of all were based on Asia Pacific area. He was ranked at top 50 in the world ranking as Men Single Player due to his exceptional qualities throughout his career.

He realized the importance for more people other than the players recruited into the state badminton team and/or national badminton team to learn about badminton in a more stylish and professional training system and this is where the founder had the idea to set up SBTC since year 2001.

Under his excellent management and guidance, SBTC has been providing a good platform for the students to achieve their dreams here whereby the state badminton team and national badminton team have been consistently offered players from SBTC to represent the state / nation.
